How to read a COA

What a certificate of analysis is, what it tells you, and what it doesn't.

What a COA is

A certificate of analysis (COA) is a document issued by a third party laboratory that reports the test results for a specific batch of a substance. For research peptides, a COA usually covers identity, purity, water content, and microbial limits.

What to look at first

Identity (does the sample match the peptide name on the label?), purity (typically expressed as a percentage), and the batch number on the COA matches the batch number on the product label and the order.

What a COA doesn't tell you

A COA is a snapshot of one batch at the time of testing. It is not a guarantee of future batches, and it is not a statement about how a peptide will behave in any specific research model. It also doesn't change the research use only framing of the product.

How Apothify links COAs

Every Apothify product page includes a link to the COA for the batch we are currently shipping. We replace the file when a new batch arrives. If you ever receive a product and the batch on the box doesn't match the COA on the website, email info@apothify.com and we'll sort it out.
