Storage and stability

How to store research peptides to keep them stable for the duration of your research protocol.

Why storage matters

Peptides are more sensitive to temperature, moisture, and light than most small molecule reagents. Poor storage is the most common reason research peptide stability falls short of the manufacturer's expectations.

Lyophilized (powder) storage

Apothify ships lyophilized peptides. Sealed, in their original packaging, with desiccant, stored at -20 °C and protected from light, lyophilized peptides are generally stable for the timeframes shown on the COA.

Reconstituted (solution) storage

Once reconstituted in bacteriostatic water or another carrier per laboratory protocol, peptides are much less stable. Most are stored at 4 °C and used within a short window per the laboratory's own validation.

Shipping and receipt

We ship USPS Priority by default. On receipt, transfer the lyophilized vials to your laboratory freezer as soon as possible. Apothify is not responsible for stability changes caused by post delivery storage.
